Audi A5 F5 Traffic Sign Recognition Activation (RetroLab Pro)

Activate factory Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) on Audi A5 F5 vehicles equipped with a front camera (PR-QK1), navigation, and a compatible instrument cluster. This activation works on vehicles from all regions, including EU / ROW / RDW / NAR. The activation is performed using RetroLab Pro — no manual coding, scripts, or remote desktop session required.

How It Works

After purchase, the activation is assigned to your vehicle’s VIN. Using a Windows PC and an ENet cable, you connect to the vehicle and perform the activation using RetroLab Pro. The application automatically detects your vehicle configuration and only allows compatible activations.

Do I need additional hardware for Traffic Sign Recognition?
No. The vehicle must already be equipped with the required front camera, navigation system, and a supported instrument cluster.

Will this work on North American (NAR) vehicles?
Yes. This activation works on supported vehicles from all regions, including North American models.

Where are traffic signs displayed?
Traffic signs are shown directly in the instrument cluster or Virtual Cockpit depending on your vehicle configuration.

Is remote coding required?
No. The activation is performed directly using RetroLab Pro through a guided VIN-specific activation process.

  • This is a digital, VIN-based activation. Once activation access is assigned to a VIN, it cannot be revoked or returned.
  • To prevent misuse and chargeback-related issues, this product is available via bank transfer only.

Special Notice – 2024+ Models (SFD2 Protection)

Starting from model year 2024, most Audi vehicles are equipped with SFD2 (Schutz der Fahrzeugdiagnose 2) security protection. This system prevents remote coding, dataset uploads and activations outside of authorized workshop environments.

If your vehicle has one of the following PR codes, it is protected by SFD2:

  • PR-NI1 – With UNECE CS & SU
  • PR-NI7 – With UNECE (R155) without SU (R156)
  • PR-NI8 – Without UNECE (R155) and SU (R156) with SFD2-SG
  • PR-NI9 – With UNECE CS & SU

Vehicles with SFD2 cannot be activated remotely.

For these vehicles, we only offer installation and activation at our workshop in Vellinge, Sweden. If you are unsure whether your vehicle has SFD2, please contact us before ordering.

Installation & Activation

All coding, adaptations and feature activations are performed using RetroLab Pro. No third-party tools, scripts or manual coding are required.

Hardware installation must be carried out according to Audi factory repair manuals and wiring diagrams. We do not provide trim removal or mechanical disassembly guides.

You must be comfortable working on your vehicle or have a professional workshop perform the installation. Remote activation support is available if required (additional cost may apply).
