Audi A6 C8 – Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Activation (Remote Session)

Remote activation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for Audi A6 C8 models equipped with the MHI2P MMI system. The activation is fully integrated in the factory MMI interface and functions exactly as intended by Audi.

Function Details

  • Apple CarPlay: Wireless support available on vehicles with MMI software version 2711 or newer
  • Android Auto: Supported in wired mode only

  • Audi A6 C8 (model years 2018–2020)
  • Vehicles equipped with MHI2P Navigation
  • Compatible with both 8.8" and 10.1" MMI displays

Technical Requirements (Mandatory)

  • Windows PC (macOS is not supported)
  • ENet cable (Ethernet to OBD)
  • Stable wired internet connection
  • If your PC does not have an Ethernet (LAN) port, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter is required (not included)

Remote Coding & Activation

All required coding and activation is performed remotely by Retrofit.nu. The process is carried out using factory-compatible methods and within the vehicle’s existing software configuration.

Special Notice – 2024+ Models (SFD2 Protection)

Starting from model year 2024, most Audi vehicles are equipped with SFD2 (Schutz der Fahrzeugdiagnose 2) security protection. This system prevents remote coding, dataset uploads and activations outside of authorized workshop environments.

If your vehicle has one of the following PR codes, it is protected by SFD2:

  • PR-NI1 – With UNECE CS & SU
  • PR-NI7 – With UNECE (R155) without SU (R156)
  • PR-NI8 – Without UNECE (R155) and SU (R156) with SFD2-SG
  • PR-NI9 – With UNECE CS & SU

Vehicles with SFD2 cannot be activated remotely.

For these vehicles, we only offer installation and activation at our workshop in Vellinge, Sweden. If you are unsure whether your vehicle has SFD2, please contact us before ordering.

Installation & Activation

All coding, adaptations and feature activations are performed using RetroLab Pro. No third-party tools, scripts or manual coding are required.

Hardware installation must be carried out according to Audi factory repair manuals and wiring diagrams. We do not provide trim removal or mechanical disassembly guides.

You must be comfortable working on your vehicle or have a professional workshop perform the installation. Remote activation support is available if required (additional cost may apply).
