Audi A3 8Y Sedan – Bang & Olufsen sound system retrofit – This A3 8Y travelled from Denmark to our workshop in Vellinge, Sweden for a complete OEM upgrade from the standard 6-speaker system to the 15-speaker B&O system.

Audi A3 8Y – Upgrade to Bang & Olufsen Sound System

This Audi A3 8Y Sedan was originally equipped with the basic 6-speaker sound system. The owner wanted the full Bang & Olufsen premium audio experience as delivered from factory on higher-spec models.

The result is a dramatic improvement in clarity, sound staging and depth while maintaining full factory appearance and integration.

From 6 Speakers to 15-Speaker B&O System

The retrofit included replacement and addition of speakers throughout the vehicle, installation of the dedicated B&O amplifier and full system integration with the MIB3 infotainment platform.

The A3 8Y platform uses Ethernet-based communication for audio integration, ensuring seamless OEM functionality without aftermarket solutions.

OEM Installation & Interior Conversion

All required speaker housings, trim panels and mounting components were replaced with genuine Audi / Bang & Olufsen parts to match factory specification.

No custom fabrication was performed. The finished result is visually and technically identical to a factory-delivered B&O-equipped A3 8Y.

Full Coding & Factory Integration

After hardware installation, complete OEM coding and configuration were carried out to enable correct amplifier communication, sound profiles and MMI control.

The system operates exactly like an original B&O installation with full integration into the infotainment system.
