Optional Laser Headlight Upgrades

Vehicles equipped with Matrix LED headlights with Laser light can enable additional laser lighting functions.

• Blue Laser Light Activation (+€50)
  Activates the blue laser light inside the headlight and extends the range of the high beams. In addition to the increased light range, the blue accent lighting inside the headlight becomes visible, giving the headlights the distinctive blue laser appearance.
• RS Laser Headlight Animation (+€50)
  Vehicles equipped with laser headlights can optionally upgrade the startup and shutdown animation to the RS headlight animation.

Why Matrix Headlights Are Restricted on US Vehicles

Many Audi vehicles delivered to the United States and Canada include factory Matrix LED headlights, but the advanced adaptive lighting functionality is limited due to regional lighting regulations. Because of this, the headlights often behave more like standard LED high beams even though the vehicle is equipped with full Matrix hardware. This activation unlocks the Matrix headlights and allows the adaptive lighting system to operate closer to its intended design.

How It Works

After purchase, the activation is assigned to your vehicle’s VIN. For supported 2020–2023 vehicles, you use a Windows PC and an ENet cable to connect to the vehicle and perform the activation using RetroLab Pro. The required OEM configuration is applied automatically through the guided workflow.

For supported 2024–2025 vehicles, the activation is performed through a manual Remote Session. During this session, Retrofit.nu connects remotely, checks the vehicle configuration and performs the required activation manually. This option costs +€100 in addition to the standard activation price.
